Ayer la Academia de Ciencias y Artes Cinematográficas de Hollywood (AMPAS) dio a conocer la lista con los setenta temas inscritos para competir por el Oscar a Mejor Canción Original en la próxima ceremonia de los premios más importantes del cine norteamericano.
El filme indio Pulimurugan, Lake of Fire y la cinta independiente Elizabeth Blue, cuyos temas compuestos e interpretados por August Roads sólo pueden ser escuchados aquí, dominan el listado con tres inscripciones, seguidas por Cars 3, La bella y la bestia (Beauty and the Beast), Patti Cake$ y Llámame por tu nombre (Call me by your Name), inscritas con dos canciones.
Además de dos de las grandes favoritas de la temporada, This is Me compuesta por Benj Pasek y Justin Paul para El gran showman (The Greatest Showman) y Remember Me, tema principal del filme animado Coco, también figuran en el conteo temas interpretados por Mariah Carey, Cher, Stevie Nicks, Elvis Costello, Taylor Swift, Nick Jonas, Jason Mraz, Sara Bareilles, Common, Céline Dion, One Republic y Snow Patrol.
