Nominaciones a los Emmy Awards 2018; Game of Thrones encabeza con 22 menciones

La serie dramática Game of Thrones, basada en la serie de libros escritos por George R.R. Martin, lideró las nominaciones a los Primetime Emmy Awards, que reconocen a lo mejor de la televisión en los Estados Unidos.

El serial de HBO, que este año regresó en su temporada, obtuvo 22 menciones, incluyendo Mejor Actor de Reparto Drama para Nikolaj Coster-Walday y Peter Dinklage; Mejor Actriz de Reparto Drama para Lena Headey, Mejor Actriz Invitada Drama para Diana Rigg y Mejor Serie Drama, premio que competirá con The Crown, The Handmaid's Tale, Stranger Things, This is Us, Westworld y la última temporada de The Americans.

En el conteo le siguieron Westworld y Saturday Night Live con 21 nominaciones; The Handmaid's Tale obtuvo 20 menciones y The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story consiguió 18 postulaciones, incluyendo nominaciones para todos sus actores principales: Darren Criss (Mejor Actor Miniserie o Película), Édgar Ramírez, Ricky Martin, Finn Wittrock (trío nominado a Mejor Actor de Reparto Miniserie o Película) y Penélope Cruz (Mejor Actriz de Reparto Miniserie o Película).

Netflix también hizo historia esta mañana al convertirse en la primera plataforma de streaming que lidera las nominaciones al premio Emmy, al conseguir 112 menciones, superando a su competidor más cercano -y líder en los últimos diez años- HBO, que figuró 108 veces en el listado.

Jason Bateman (Ozark), Sterling K. Brown (This is Us), Ed Harris (Westworld), Matthews Rhys (The Americans), Milo Ventimiglia (This is Us) y Jeffrey Wright (Westworld) fueron seleccionados en la categoría Mejor Actor Drama, mientras que Claire Foy (The Crown), Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black), Elisabeth Moss (The Handmaid's Tale), Sandra Oh (Killing Eve), Keri Russell (The Americans) y Evan Rachel Wood (Westworld) figuraron en la categoría Mejor Actriz Drama.

La ceremonia 70 de los Primetime Emmy Awards se llevará a cabo el domingo.
